Detroit Lions Manicure

WE’RE (sharing) #1! WE’RE (sharing) #1! Last night my fantastic Detroit Lions played their first Monday Night Football game in a decade and the first at Ford Field in downtown Detroit. I tailgated in Detroit’s Eastern Market then watched the end of the Tigers-Rangers game and the Lions-Bears game. I was sad that the Tigers lost to the Rangers and that we’re now down 2-0 in the current playoff series BUT the next few games are at home and I’m confident home field advantage will boost their morale!! Check out the Detroit Tigers manicure I did earlier this year.

Ooooh but my heart belonged the Detroit Lions last night. I’ve loved football since I was a little girl (I dressed up as Barry Sanders for Halloween one year in elementary school) and I am a hometown team FANATIC. The Lions went into last night’s game undefeated and WE WERE VICTORIOUS AGAINST OUR LONG-TIME RIVALS THE CHICAGO BEARS. The Detroit Lions and the Green Bay Packers are the only 2 teams that remain undefeated in the NFL, so I dedicate this manicure to my wonderful Detroit Lions.

For this manicure I created a custom color for the base. I used 2 coats of Nina Ultra Pro Bossa Nova and 1 coat of Sally Hansen HD Blu to achieve the perfect Honolulu Blue of my beloved Lions’ jerseys. I then painted stripes in various patterns using Art Deco Nail Art Stripers in Black (layered with Black Sparkles), White, and Silver (layered with Silver Glitter) to mimic the detailing on the jerseys.
